Top achievers from UPSC, IIT-JEE, CLAT share strategies and tips to help students excel in exams

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025: In the final episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2025, students gearing up for India’s toughest exams had the chance to learn from those who had already triumphed. Top achievers from exams like UPSC-CSE, IIT-JEE, CLAT, CBSE, NDA, ICSE, and others shared their journeys, revealing the strategies that helped them reach the top.

CBSE Topper 2023 Radhika Singhal, ISC Topper 2024 Shuchismita Adhikari, PPC alumni Ashish Verma from IIT Delhi and B Nishtha along with other exam toppers addressed students’ queries on various aspects of exam preparation.

Learn to Prioritize

Nishtha spoke about the common worries students have that don’t make a significant difference in their preparation. “We often stress too much about covering the entire syllabus,” she said. Instead of trying to memorize everything, she advised students to focus on key topics that are frequently asked in exams. “Revise previous year’s questions first and prioritize those topics, then move on to the rest.”

Personalized Preparation

Jai Kumar Bohara, the CLAT 2024 topper, emphasized that every student has their own unique approach to preparation, and there’s no one-size-fits-all strategy. Reflecting on his own experience, Bohara shared, “I found that making notes didn’t work for me, so I opted for minimal notes in the form of flowcharts.” He encouraged students to experiment with different strategies to find what works best for them.

Additionally, past participants of Pariksha Pe Charcha shared how the event positively influenced their exam preparation. They highlighted how the motivational talks, expert tips, and guidance from prominent personalities kept them focused, energized, and motivated throughout their journey.

Conquer Your Fears

UPSC 2022 All India Rank (AIR) 1, Ishita Kishore, advised students not to succumb to exam-related fear. “Even our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, says that to cheat is to be cheap,” she remarked. “Be honest in your approach, and that integrity will give you the confidence to achieve your goals.”
