ICAR Postpones JRF, SRF (PhD) Counselling, Check Revised Date

The cut-off date for completion of the degree and PDC for all PG programmes has been extended till January 15 (Representational/ File)

The ICAR JRF and SRF (PhD) counselling will now be conducted along with the counselling for PG programmes of veterinary stream in January and February.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has postponed all ongoing ICAR JRF and SRF (PhD) counselling for the current academic session (2024-25). These will now be conducted along with the counselling for PG programmes of the veterinary stream in January and February.

Furthermore, the cut-off date for completion of the degree and PDC for all PG programmes has been extended till January 15. However, the counselling for PG programmes (except the veterinary stream) will be conducted as scheduled.

IIT Kanpur has announced the launch of SATHEE ICAR for students preparing for ICAR UG entrance exams. Through this, all students will be provided free preparation for the entrance exam. SATHEE ICAR provides students with recorded lectures by IIT professors, live interactive classes with experts, subject-based practice questions, and AI-based analytics, and highlights areas for improvement. It also includes mock tests to help students compare their performance with peers across the country. To register, candidates can visit its official website – icar.iitk.ac.in or download the SATHEE app from the App Store or Google Play.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results for the ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Admission Postgraduate (AIEEA-PG) 2024, and All India Competitive Examinations (AICE) JRF, SRF (PhD) on August 14. Out of the total 46,452 students who enrolled for the exam, 41,148 appeared.

This year, the NTA administered the computer-based entrance exam at 170 centres across 91 cities on June 29. The exam was held for 2 hours and consisted of a total of 120 questions. The candidate was rewarded 4 marks for every right answer, while 1 mark was deducted for every wrong attempt. No marks were given for unattempted questions.

The ICAR AIEEA PG is a national-level entrance examination administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It is conducted for students seeking admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (PhD) programmes in agriculture and allied sciences at several agricultural universities (AU) across India.
